Snower Hill Farm Betchworth Surrey
Eight houses of traditional construction have been built on a brownfield site in a rural location. Works commenced with a survey of the existing drainage which crossed the site, resulting in the design of a new economical drainage scheme.
A permanent road was constructed whist temporary access was gained through the working farm. The new road runs through several root protection zones, necessitating no dig construction.
The foundations and ground floor slabs were constructed using the Abbey Pynford Housedeck system which reduces spoil from excavations. External walls are of traditional brick and blockwork and clad with Tudor cladding and tile hanging. The trussed roofs are tiled. New services were installed, and these included a ground source heat pump using a borehole for each property and new drainage with improvements to the existing outfall. Works also included the installation of power and supply for electric vehicle charging points.
