Plumpton College Plumpton East Sussex

A steel frame stand-alone two-storey Agri-Food Centre building has been constructed in the heart of the college which offers a range of full-time and part-time land-based courses, Further Education courses and Foundation and BSc courses for several thousand students.

The new facility provides offices, flexible teaching and conference facilities to accommodate 300 people, commercial training kitchen and café.  Construction comprises strip/pad foundations with an RC ground bearing slab, steel frame and precast widespan upper floor with a structural trapezoid roof deck incorporating a sedum living roof.  The façade is traditional masonry with large aluminium windows and curtain walling.  In addition to the main building a large Combined Heat & Power plant room has been constructed.

Extensive external works include improvements to the site entrance and extension to the college road network, a new car park and surface water infrastructure.
