Pathfield Close Rudgwick West Sussex
The project comprised six dwellings of traditional construction to provide affordable rented accommodation for young families. The existing bungalows on the site were demolished, having suffered from subsidence due to large trees on the immediately adjacent site.
Work commenced with the installation of CFA piled foundations, with ground beams and beam and block floors. The superstructure is traditional masonry, cavity walls with block and face brickwork. The first floors are constructed using JJI joists with CaberDek flooring. From the first floor to the roof, the cavity walls are tile hung with roof trusses clad with interlocking Old English concrete tiles.
External works, carried out by the Company’s in house Groundworks and Civil Engineering Department included new surface and foul drainage, sewer diversion and hard and soft landscaping. Pathfield Close was widened and extended, requiring Section 85 and 278 Agreements with the Highway Authority.
