Hove Park Valley Campus Hove Park School Hove
A single storey detached Special Educational Needs centre has been constructed at the school, together with remodelling and extending the main entrance and dining areas. Having been built in the early 1970s, with few alterations in the previous decades, the facilities no longer met today’s needs.
Construction comprises traditional mass concrete trench fill foundations, beam and block ground floor slab, with structural steel frame. External walls are part traditional facing brick and blockwork cavity wall and part Euroclad Vieo standing seam cladding. The roof has an aluminium standing seam covering. The majority of the internal space was designed with high open ceilings which required particular care and attention with setting out and presentation of the mechanical and electrical services. The new accommodation includes classroom, therapy rooms, quiet room, lounge, kitchen and dining areas and supports both ambulant and non-ambulant pupils.
Foundations and external works were carried out by the Sunninghill Groundworks and Civil Engineering Department.
