Banstead Make Ready Centre Sutton
A new Make Ready ambulance centre has been constructed in Banstead. The Make Ready system significantly improves the ambulance service through specially trained operatives deep cleaning, restocking and checking vehicles for mechanical faults, thereby keeping the vehicles on the road for longer and allowing more time to be spent with patients.
Enabling works commenced with the demolition of the existing brick and concrete SECAmb building. The arisings were then crushed and used to make up levels within the extensive parking areas.
Construction comprises trench filled and pad concrete foundations, structural steel frame, hybrid in design, with a portal to the Make Ready and Fleet areas; steel roof deck with warm roof detail to the three-storey office area and a composite Kingspan roof system to the MRC/Fleet areas.
The extensive foundations and external works were carried out by the Sunninghill Groundworks and Civil engineering team and included the diversion of existing services.
